A Sneak Peek into a Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur

Before we start. This is not going to be a literal sneak peek where we run behind an entrepreneur with a camera like a bunch of Paparazzi. What we are going to do is read about how many established and seasoned entrepreneurs go through their day-to-day lives. There may be many qualities that we can pick up and incorporate into our own lives.
Understanding how they spend their hours in a day is not easy unless we step into their shoes. Instead, we can take a look into the daily lives of renowned entrepreneurs and understand how they spend their day.
Eat the live frog first thing in the morning.
This is a famous quotation by Mark Twain that says, “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”
This is precisely what Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, does every morning. His morning kicks off with attending the most critical meetings and sorting complicated tasks.
We all know our motivation is at its peak early in the morning. Handling the most difficult tasks then, the rest of the day will seem less daunting in comparison.
This is because as the clock slowly ticks towards noon, our energy depletes gradually.
Entrepreneurs like Jeff Bezos prefer ticking off tasks that require complete focus early in the morning while keeping the rest of the day more relaxed with creative or less complicated work.
But, not all entrepreneurs think along the lines of Jeff Bezos and not everything that Bezos does will work for you. Find your groove. Maybe the next Entrepreneur might spark something?
Health is Wealth
There are a few others like Grant Hensel, CEO of Nonprofit Magazine, who prefers hitting the gym early at 6:30 am to rejuvenate his energy. Most of his mornings are spent burning those extra calories or flexing his muscles at martial arts class.
Our body is a money-making machine. Taking care of it first will help us use it for the long haul. For Grant and others like him, health comes first.
These morning sessions work as a stimulator for him and help him pick up complex projects requiring his immediate attention early in the day.
Research shows that regular physical activity increases blood flow and improves our cardiovascular health and fitness. Burning calories through exercises allows more blood and oxygen to flow through our body, thereby boosting our energy to do more work. Regular exercises improve our concentration, fill up with motivation, improve our memory, and refresh our mood.
Another great plus point of starting your day on a healthy note is the ability to take challenges and find winning solutions. It will allow you to address matters that require your complete attention.
For most of us, our brain acts like a diesel engine on a cold winter morning without our first cup of coffee. Maybe that’s what sets us apart from these superhuman entrepreneurs. Don’t worry though. Picking up qualities and building our good habits is never too late.
Making your body work for you is one thing but do you get your money to work for you?
Start with the Market
Keeping track of the market is of utmost importance for all of us. But, for entrepreneurs, it is like ‘the question of life and death.’
That is precisely what occupies KJ Blattenbauer’s early mornings. She is a successful author, publicist, entrepreneur, and owner of Hearsaypr,
She starts the day even before the market opens and scans the news headlines for her industry-related information. Then, the rest of the day follows with attending meetings, responding to emails, etc.
Even Mark Zuckerberg starts his day by checking updates and scrolling through social media to understand what is happening in the world around him.
And, coming back to Elon Musk, his entire day is spent attending meetings, attending business calls, and walking around his factory at Tesla or SpaceX. Then, finally, he signs off after checking emails at 1:00 am.
The purpose of mentioning the above examples is to bring home the fact that an entrepreneur cannot start planning for the day unless they know what’s happening in the market.
Staying ahead of the market with apt knowledge of the latest statistics and updates helps them strategize their next actions.
That’s exactly what well-known entrepreneurs like Mark Zukerberg and KJ Blattenbauer do.
Like we say, never judge a book by its cover.
Hence, one should not build opinions about entrepreneurs’ lives based on the glamorous snaps that we see on tabloids. Or their appearances in front of the media.
That’s because tabloids do not capture the amount of hard work they put behind running their successful businesses.
Even though their approach is slightly dissimilar, a few things remain constant: time management, staying updated, and sheer hard work.
